All our Board Members give of their time, resources, energy and contributions on a purely voluntary basis. Further, the people who help us and join our many projects island-wide, do so on a voluntary basis. There are no paid employees at Ahava. Therefore, all funds sent to our Foundation goes directly to the particular projects we initiate.
The ethos of this Foundation is to bring hope and security to people battling poverty, difficult circumstances, life issues, by working closely with those who are most affected. We believe that when we share our blessings with the less fortunate in society, we can make their lives worthwhile and beautiful.
In the very year The Ahava Foundation was operational, in the month of May 2016, disaster struck our beautiful island Sri Lanka with floods and landslides. We were able to galvanize the individual directors at this time to canvass for donations in order to help at least some people affected by this disaster. Through the spontaneous generosity of friends and well wishers and a generous contribution by The Cornerstone Church in Kent, we were able to complete 4 projects for the flood affected, i.e. replenishment of furniture lost in the floods for 2 families, refurbishment of a house with new door, window and roof that was blown away and very significantly, constructing a brand new small home for Kasun and his family in the aftermath.
From that year onwards there has only been an acceleration of projects done by our Foundation, with the untiring efforts of all the Directors to fund-raise and bring change and enhance lives of our fellow citizens in the remotest parts of our nation.

At Ahava, we embrace diversity, which we believe contributes to the richness of life and fullness of learning and development irrespective of religion, race and nationality.
Ahava is a Hebrew word which is a verb and a noun. In the Hebrew language, the word Ahava is not an emotion but an action. Giving as a vehicle of love. A love that is more concerned with giving than of receiving.
Ahava is run by a committee of Members/volunteers. We do not have salaried posts. The total administration is spearheaded by devoted members and volunteers and therefore all your donations go directly to the needy. The entire efforts of labour, time and most often shortfalls of funds as well are poured freely to the respective projects we undertake, by our dedicated members/volunteers .
